Approved: There is Going To Be a Big But Positive Change in La Liga Next Season

The Spanish League is among the highly-rated leagues in the world with the very best players. And its dominance in Europe in the Champions League shows a lot of positives about the league.

But like the rest of the top leagues in the world, it has been plagued with refereeing errors. The referees are hardly to be blamed as these decisions are to be taken in a split second.

Leagues like the Premier League have already taken the first step in the introduction of technology in football. Goal-line technology was introduced, eliminating one crucial error in games.

However, the Spanish league is yet to introduce any form of technology in football.

But it was also curious for fans to realize GLT was in use in Ligue 1 which is considered to rank below LaLiga. And the obvious reason outlined earlier was the high cost of €4 million per season.

But the league president Javier Tebas has now opted for Video Assistant Referee system (VAR). Tebas confirmed it would be introduced in the 2017/18 season in the Spanish top flight.
La Liga approves Video Assistant Referee (VAR)

Spanish radio Cope have now confirmed that the technology has been approved. The report says that Sánchez Arminio, president of the Technical Committee of Arbitrators of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, has already internally informed the referees of the arrival of the VAR to Spain.
